Currently, Principal Researcher FCT at the Associated Laboratory LSRE/LCM, Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto, Portugal.

Received the degree of Chemical Engineering in 1999 and his PhD in 2005 at the University of Coimbra, with a thesis entitled “Treatment of Liquid Pollutants by Catalytic Wet Air Oxidation”.

In Chemical and Environmental Engineering field, he is an Advisor of researchers in various advanced training cycles, author of over 100 publications in international scientific journals, more than 200 national and international scientific conferences, over 10 chapters in books, and regularly conducts activities of international assessment projects and publications in scientific journals.
