Open positions for PhD students to be funded by the Marie Sklodowska Curie Innovative Training Network ANSWER - "Antibiotics and mobile resistance elements in wastewater reuse applications: risks and innovative solutions" within the Horizon 2020 Programme of the European Commission, will be held during October, 2015. ANSWER consortium, in which Adventech is included, comprises high profile universities, research institutions and companies located in Austria, Cyprus, Germany, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia and Spain.

Talented, highly motivated and enthusiastic junior scientists with a preferential background in environmental sciences, chemical engineering, analytical chemistry, biology, or similar, are invited to apply. Excellent research skills and analytical abilities are required, fluency in English (both spoken and written), proactive communication skills and problem solving as part of a team, strong record keeping, great work ethic and initiatives are essential characteristics.

Anabela Nogueira and Cláudia Paiva were at 12th International Conference on Energy for a Clean Environment - Clean Air, in Lisbon. They were present at the conference, representing the Adventech with a new the project, named BioH2Energy.

In seven years of activity, Adventech already created new jobs and is involved in many European Projects. Recently, invested in the expansion of R&D Lab installation, aims to increase the skill levels in the research and technology development. The expasion of the  R&D Lab installation is aimed for pilot plants in the wastewater and gaseous effluents field, in order to prove the effectiveness and costs of treatment in the scaled-up industrial scale.

In the field of wastewater treatment, Adventech uses combined technologies, such as traditional anaerobic biological treatment plants and /or aerobic systems with advanced catalytic oxidation. In the field of gases treatment, Adventech provides systems for VOC abatement, odor control and other air pollution control process solutions for all industry applications.

Currently, Adventech is working under the BioH2Energy project and the development consists in a new technology for the hydrogen production. The BioH2Energy project is to recover biogas from the anaerobic biological treatment plants, and turn it into a value-added product. Biogas is rich in methane, is converted to hydrogen through a catalytic reaction. After the purification and separation process, the hydrogen is able to be introduced into a fuel-cell for the electricity production. Presently, the use of renewable energy is expanding and Adventech confederate the innovative technology to the market needs, aiming a significant reduction in environmental impact.

Re-engineering of old (not working) plant. Old stainless steel tanks were upgraded. New concrete biological reactor (1000m3 capacity), new fine screen, new sand filter and new electric board with PLC and remote control were installed.
